Pu Erh Kunming comes with the typical smoky, earthy character that makes this black tea so well-known.
The cup appears in a traditional deep red-brown tone.
The tea is named after the capital Kunming in Yunnan which is famous for the so-called red tea.
The leaves have been picked for centuries from the ancient old wide-leafed tea plants.
These historical tea bushes grow in the forests of Yunnan amongst rubber trees, banana plants and palms. The unusual and extremely complicated way of processing retains the beneficial ingredients that would normally get lost during fermentation.
Following an old tradition the leaves are just dried under the sun.
