Oolong Tea

Oolong (english) or Wulong (chinese pinyin translation) teas mainly come from China and Taiwan (Formosa). After the leaves have been picked and withered, they are put through a series of very careful drying, rolling, steaming and a short period of fermentation that turns the leaves from green to red-brown. The teas range from lightly oxidized oolongs, such as Jade Oolong through to dark oolongs such as White Tip (70-80 per cent fermentation).

China Oolong Tie Guan Yin

China Tie Guan Yin Oolong

Tie Guan Yin is one of the most famous Chinese Oolong (semi fermented) teas. Our tea comes from the garden Wangjia located in the northern part of province Fujian.

Tie Guan Yin is a green produced Oolong. The tea has a unique flowery taste with a touch of orchid fragrance and develops a bright green cup colour.

Before trying the dark green leaves of Tie Guan Yin are rolled into small pearls. During the infusion the pearls uncurl and show the beauitful unbroken whole tea leaf.
