Black Tea

 

           

Darjeeling - known as the Champagne of teas grows high on the foothills of the Himalayas. The slow growth produces leaves of a delicate power. First-flush teas are the most sought after leaves by tea-lovers preferring their light, refreshing and aromatic taste. Assam teas, grown in the north east of India are invigorating, malty, strong, full-bodied and sometimes almost spicy. Black teas from China such as Yunnan are soft, fragrant and refreshing.

There is something special to the first fresh buds in spring after the tea plant has rested throughout the winter. The first Darjeeling harvest is one of the most sought after teas - fresh, flowery, delicate in taste but nevertheless with an expressive fragrance. An absolute delight for every Darjeeling lover.

Darjeeling Tumsong DJ34

Darjeeling Tumsong First Flush

 

An absolute top quality from one of the most famous tea gardens in Darjeeling.

Tumsong is worldwide renown for fine quality teas. The small estate is located in

East Valley/Darjeeling in heights between 900 and nearly 2.000m.

The top quality comes from a large quantity of thea sinensis plants.

This particular harvest under lot no. DJ34 has highest standard and tastes

full flowery, sparkling and highly aromatic. The cup colour develops light yellow and very flowery – a dream of first flush. 

Recommended preparation: 12g tea leaves (about 6 heaped teaspoons to one litre of freshly boiling water)

Brewing time: 3 min

 

Taste: Full flowery, sparkling, highly aromatic

 


Ceylon BOP1 Greenfield

Ceylon BOP1 Greenfield

A typical fully fermented Ceylon leaf tea with the full-bodied character and beautiful sparkling touch in its' taste.

The Greenfield Tea Garden is located in the Ceylon Highlands at heights between between 1600m and 2000m altitude
To the east of the highlands is the famous UVA growing area and within the Haputale district you will find Greenfield embedded on a beautiful hilly landacape

The brewed cup develops to a wonderful shiny red colour

Recommended preparation: 12g tea leaves (about 5 slightly heaped teaspoons to one litre of freshly boiling water)

Taste: Mild with a sparkling touch

 


China High Tippy Yunnan

China High Tippy Yunnan
 
 
A rare tea of highest quality: The hot and humid climate and the strong loamy soil grows large black leaves with lots of golden tips. The tea produces a long-lasting taste with a soft, slightly malty aroma with cocoa character.
The leaf is beautiful and carefully processed using a traditional method. This aromatic tea originates from one of the most traditional tea growing areas in China (the southern Chinese Yunnan district). This fully fermented typically China tea is suitable and recommended as a wonderful Afternoon Tea. After brewing, the tea shows an impressive red-brown colour. This is one of the most delicate black teas from China.

Recommended preparation: 12g tea leaves (about 5 slightly heaped teaspoons to one litre of freshly boiling water)

Taste: Soft, mild, cocoa character

 


Pu Erh Kun Ming

Pu Erh, known as 'red tea', is produced from the same plant than black tea. It's production is rather special. Unlike the fermentation process of black tea, Pu Erh is fermented with the aid of special bacteria that result in its deep reddish brown colour. It is said that Pu Erh has a positive influence on the metabolism and therefore can support weight loss.

Recommended preparation: 12g tea leaves (about 5 slightly heaped teaspoons of tea to one litre of freshly boiling water)

Brewing time: 3 min

Taste: Earthy with a smoky touch

 


Assam Rembeng

Assam Rembeng Broken (Indien)

A very strong, spicy tea with a slightly malty touch and a very dark, brown cup colour. Grown on the Rembeng Estate, the pioneer tea garden of Organic tea cultivation in Assam. The area of Assam is a high plateau in the North-East of India on both sides of the river Brahmaputra.

Recommended preparation: 10g tea leaves (about 4 heaped teaspoons to one litre of freshly boiling water)

Brewing time: 3 min

Very nice with a dash of milk

Taste: Robust, malty

 


Vietnam FBOP Lion Son Black

Vietnam FBOP Black Lion

Truly unusual organic tea from Vietnam. This fully fermented large broken tea with it's many fine golden tips combines the delicate sweetness of an Chinese Yunnan tea with the power and spice of best Indian Assams. The cup shows a beautiful reddish brown colour. A perfect tea for the afternoon with a hint of milk or cream and sugar to your taste - delicious!

Recommended preparation: 5g of tea leaves (approx 2 heaped teaspoons) for 0.5l of freshly boiling water

Brewing time:  3-4 min

Earl Grey Black Lion

Based on Vietnamese Black Lion this fully fermented large broken tea with its many golden tips combines the sweetness of chinese Yunnan teas with the power and spice of best assam teas. Fresh natural organic bergamot oil gives finishes this tea to perfection.

Recommended preparation: 5g of tea leaves (approx 2 heaped teaspoons) for 0.5l of freshly boiling water

Brewing time:  3-4 min 

Taste: Full-bodied, fresh, fruity
